The Issues That Matter |
Who Am I?I'm a conservative Republican who wants to see a conservative Republican representing our district in the state senate. Like a lot of the voters in district 22, I do a lot of different jobs, depending on what day of the week it is. I work for Hewlett-Packard in Boise during the day. But I also write history books, articles for popular magazines and scholarly journals. I also know how to make stuff with my hands, too. I run a small business where I manufacture telescope accessories, and sell them to customers around the world. Somehow I find time to engage in the important work of protecting our Constitutional rights from frauds with Ph.D.s and I provide historical research for important Supreme Court cases, such as this amicus brief for D.C. v. Heller (2008). (And you will find my published work in a few other court cases as well.) My B.A. and M.A. are in History, from Sonoma State University, in California. And before you make any assumptions--"One of those Californians"--the reason that I moved my family here in 2001 was because the California that I grew up in--where patriotism wasn't a dirty word, and where family values still mattered--doesn't exist anymore. I don't want Idaho to turn into California. My wife Rhonda and I have been married for 28 years. Our son is going to college out of state; our daughter is married, and finishing up her M.S.W. at Boise State. I've been a member of the National Rifle Association since 1981, and of the Boise Astronomical Society since 2002. |
